Censorship 02:34
1. CENSORSHIP So many times, i go to talk Someone in my head tells me to stop right there And i can never get it right Always going wrong, their standards are so high But sometimes it’s a gift Like the tune, that came with this, an avenue to speak my mind But sometimes it’s a gift Disguising chords, singing a song, But id like to one day speak my mind, without strumming along All she wants, to be allowed The simple things in life, like walking down the road Without the fear, that hides her voice, without the fear (c) 2013 Sam RB

Lately 03:19
2. LATELY Lately I’ve been staring out the window Watching all the people passing by Some of them they just want to take from me Some of them are friendly and kind And when you’ve gathered all your self-defence They’ll turn around a say don’t be so sensitive So welcome to my world That’s just the way I am You wont change me I won’t change for anyone Welcome to my world I don’t want to join your game There’s no dignity In the way they play I learnt 2 things, the first ill share with you The second I will keep to myself You can spend a lifetime learning how to believe Only for people to say that makes you’re arrogant And when you’ve gathered all your self-defence They’ll turn around a say don’t be so sensitive (c) 2013 Sam RB

3. HOW MANY RAINS She walked among the markers, the wind blew in her face Her hair a long and tangled mess,
long gone her youthful grace As she read the names and dates there, a question came to mind One it seemed more than unlikely, the answer she would find How many rains x2 In days that never end She rocked the baby gently, held close her dearest boy And she thought of how his life would be,
she prayed he’d find much joy Then she made a wish upon a star, she hoped would seal the deal Even though she knew she couldn’t stop,
the pain he’d surely feel. How many rains x2 In days that never end She rocks with empty arms now, cries tears that never end She can almost catch the smell of him, the feel of his soft skin As she gazes into nowhere, she thinks what might have been She returns half mad to walk all night, in rain that never ends. 1989 04:06
4. 1989 Her reddened eyes opened a tear emerged out Her facial expression cried out for help So she sat in the doorway out of the rain Nobody stopped to take some of the blame Still passed her by heads head high So she sat in the doorway out of the rain How do you sleep at night, I bet you sleep alright, I got a feeling People say time will tell, what comes & goes around, I got a feeling, got a feeling Don’t seem to matter how close you get For the walls have been built over and over again Makes no real difference the tears she cries Walls to keep her safe, walls to hide behind How do you sleep at night, I bet you sleep alright, I got a feeling People say time will tell, what comes & goes around, I got a feeling Got a feeling I hope you see her face, when you close your eyes Lost in a world, didn’t need her kind Got a feeling x 4 (c) 2013 Sam RB

5. The Wind And The Rain I’ve never been to the Berlin wall or climbed the tree of Flames But I look out windows every day I’ve never been to Bangladesh, or sailed the coast of Spain But I get to dream in the new moon’s wain, hey ho the wind and the rain So whisper to me where you’ve gone Or fling me a note from a passing car I might come to know it all The wind and the rain I’ve never been to Burma Road or the road to old Bombay But I’ve shut my eyes on cloudy days I’ve never climbed the Highland road or swum on the coast of Maine But I’ve drawn the light of the suns new rays Hey ho the wind and the rain I heard that whisper in your song Your whispered shadows quiet fall Caught that note from your passing car And I came to know it all The wind and the rain I’ve never climbed the Eiffel Tower, I’m happy to stay away But I’ve walked the cliffs at Blind Cat Bay And watched you walk that summer’s day That afternoon when I learned to pray Hey ho the wind and the rain, hey ho the wind and the rain (c) 2013 Mike Chunn/Sam RB

about

It is an album of exploration and discovery. The diverse tracks encompass everything from love songs to social issues such as bullying and the rights of children. There are also reflections on psychosis and depression, and a tribute to NZ artist, the late Don Binney.

"Sings with a street-eye view and empathy... and speaks of the fragility of people's souls... her poetic lyrics continue to deepen and widen, and when you hear something as beautiful as 'It Rains Down' you know she's someone special." Graham Reid
